How Failure Can Propel You to Greatness

Updated: Oct 8, 2020

There is no such thing as failure. Failure is just life trying to move us in another direction. ~Oprah

My Road to Six Figures

Can I be honest? Well, I've started several entrepreneurial endeavors over my lifetime. Some started strong and failed big while others helped me to see what I wasn't interested in doing. Back then when I was failing repetitively, I would have laughed if you had told me that one day I'd be an international entrepreneur. However, there's something about getting out of your comfort zone that forces you to push harder to win. When I moved abroad, it was either sink or swim. What I did know is that I didn't wanna have to go back home ashamed and defeated. I just didn't quite know how I would be able to avoid it. While I'm being honest, when I lived in the US, I had what was by all accounts a "good job." I was making six figures, but I was still living paycheck to paycheck. You know, more money, more problems. With this pattern, I thought it would be impossible to be an entrepreneur, having to invest in my business instead of getting a paycheck for my work and still manage to make a profit quickly. When I moved abroad, and any possible assistance was out of reach, I got resourceful. I chose a business that was actually something I was passionate about and not just something that made me feel I could make a quick buck. Then I created a strategy to be able to make money around the clock where my presence wasn't actually needed because my love for travel doesn't allow me to be stuck in one place for too long. That one business turned into three, serving ten countries around the world. Let me do a breakdown of my passion in business. 1) Travel Concierge - One of my great joys is planning travel so my team and I create travel plans, which are then executed by top vendors all over the world. 2) Jewelry & Shoes - My hobby is finding fabulous earrings around the world. I always had an idea in my head of what I wanted but rarely found it. I've created a jewelry line with manufacturing based in Kenya, which is sold in retail abroad. I also have a shoe line for stylish and chic sandals, which I also love. Also in retail. 3) Consultant - As I've traveled, people around the world have wanted to know exactly how I managed to travel full-time. I, of course, wanted to give this to everyone in a step-by-step process, but who has the time. So, I created content around my journey to help others take this same path. Now I'm also helping people to become digital entrepreneurs. For me, it's all about using your passion to create wealth. I'm a true believer of the quote, "If you do what you love, you'll never work a day in your life." I'm living proof.

There's something about being away from all you know that breeds creativity. Have no fear. You got this!!!
